Valentine’s Day is one of those holidays that has the potential to bring up feelings. There are a lot of expectations for what Valentine’s Day should mean – whether or not you are in a relationship. For those who may be struggling and are using substances or other behaviors as a way of dealing with that struggle, this adds an extra layer.
Koorosh Rassekh, founder of Evo Health and Wellness, shares his thoughts in this video.
“As you look around and see that there’s roses and candy and hearts all over the place, it can really make you feel like an outsider. Or even worse—you may receive suggestions that somehow you’re failing. Take the time, even symbolically, to think about the ways you might find love for yourself on this day or in this time of year.”
